This means smaller playing fields or surfaces, fewer players and more opportunities to practice as opposed to playing more games. When players can have their own puck or ball they develop their skills much faster, and they have more fun while they’re at it. It doesn’t matter if it’s tennis, soccer, hockey; the game structure needs to be modified for the developmental level of the kids.    ...

Services for Athletes
...programs. Scholarships: Scholarships are available to student athletes in Manitoba to assist them in their academics while pursuing their participation in sport. Grants: Financial support may be available through additional programs such as athlete assistance, women to watch or KidSport. Power Smart Manitoba Games: The province's largest ongoing multi-sport program bringing together participants from across the province. The Games are held every two years and alternate between summer and winter sports events. Participation in the Power Smart Manitoba Games begins with regional try outs. Regional teams of approximately 200 athletes, coaches, managers and mission staff go on to participate in the Provincial Finals. Team Toba: Sport Manitoba works with the provincial sport organizations to send representatives from Manitoba (Team Toba) to both the Canada Games and the Western Canada Games.  Both these games are multi-sport events that bring together the best athletes in a specified age group from across Canada or Western Canada. Sport Partners: Sport Manitoba provides support to, and is in partnership with, over 100 sport-related organizations that also provide services, programs and events to support Manitoba's athletes....
