Scholarships
... volunteer activities. The number of scholarships awarded annually will vary, based on the number of applicants and the funds available for distribution. Preference will be given to athletes attending university or college in Manitoba and enrolled in a related field, pursuing a career in sport. Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school students entering a post-secondary institution and to students in their second or subsequent year in a post-secondary institution. The top applicant in each category will be awarded the Manitoba Foundation for Sports Milt Stegall Scholarship. In recognition of the Winnipeg Blue Bomber receiver’s contributions to the community, The Province of Manitoba, Sport Manitoba and the Manitoba Foundation for Sports will provide a scholarship of $1,000 to a graduating high school student entering a post-secondary institution and $2,000 to a student in their second or subsequent year in a post-secondary institution in the name of Stegall, who is the Canadian Football League’s all-time leader for touchdowns. Grants
... Funding of up to $300 is available to a community sport partner working with a Provincial Sport Organization for hosting a skill development clinic targeted at youth. Remote communities are eligible for a grant of up to $500. Funding is cost-shared between the community and Sport Manitoba. Communities are eligible to receive one grant per sport annually. Hosting a Clinic Grant Application Form Hosting Regional Championships Funding of up to $300 is available to community sport partners for the hosting of a regional championship for youth athletes that leads to a sanctioned Provincial Championship, supports Manitoba Games competition in a non-Games year or supports regional team selection for the Manitoba Indigenous Summer Games.
