Kirchmann Selected for Worlds Team

The Manitoba Cycling Association is proud to announce that Leah Kirchmann from Winnipeg has been selected to compete for Canada in the junior women’s category at the upcoming World Mountain Bike Championships in Val Di Sole Italy. She is only one of two athletes selected in this category to represent Canada.

The Worlds will run from June 17-22nd. Leah was selected based on her performance at three recent Canada Cups. She finished 1st at the first event in Bromont, Quebec and then followed that with two 2nd place finishes in Mont Tremblant, Quebec and Hardwood Hills, Ontario.

Kirchmann is the latest female cyclist from Manitoba to emerge onto the international stage. She follows the tradition established by athletes like Clara Hughes, Tanya Dubnicoff, and Erin Carter.
