Meet Manitoba’s most decorated sport heroes
On November 8th, 2008, six athletes, four builders, and three teams will be recognized at the 29th Annual Induction Dinner as some of Manitoba’s most decorated sport heroes. Among this year's recipients are NHL players, Olympians, national champions, provincial champions, and people who have been integral to helping build a sport community in Manitoba. These twelve recipients will become permanent fixtures in the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. 
The 2008 inductees include: Jim Fisher (athlete - Cycling), Jill Mathez (athlete - All Round), Murray McCaig (athlete - Sailing), James Patrick (athlete - Hockey), Thomas Steen (athlete - Hockey), Reid Lumbard (builder - Curling), Stan Oleson (builder - Baseball/Curling), Lorna (Caldwell) Robertson (builder - All Round), Ed Toews (builder - Volleyball), 1992 Winnipeg Fury (Team - Soccer) Ed Haddad (Veteran Athlete - Boxing), 1928 &29 Gordon Hudson Teams (Veteran Team - Curling).

Tickets to the event are $100.00 each a portion of which is tax deductible. The Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is a registered charitable organization managed by a volunteer board of directors. Established on February 24, 1980 by the Manitoba Sports Federation as a means to preserve Manitoba's sports heritage. The Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is located on the 5th floor at The Bay downtown store location.
The photographs and artifacts on display in the museum tell a historical story about sport in Manitoba. The exhibits touch on many different stories from many different sports, including curling, hockey and football, among others. The artifacts help to show how sport has changed in Manitoba over the decades. We also house a large archive of print materials, photo and videos that are available to the public for research on the history of sport in Manitoba and all related aspects.
The Hall of Fame and Museum is a program of Sport Manitoba, envisions creating the best sport community through initiative and leadership and by establishing a highly supportive environment that will enhance the abilities of all Manitobans in their pursuit of excellence and in their joy of effort in amateur sport.
