KidSport Manitoba program receives support from Starbucks

Starbucks manager Kerri Foster was given the choice of what charity her new Kenaston Indigo Starbucks would support and for her - it was an easy choice.

Passionate about kids who don’t have the opportunities to play sports, Kerri chose KidSport as the charity of choice, a Sport Manitoba program that provides funding and equipment to kids who face finanical barriers that don't allow them to participate in sport.

On September 24th from 6-9pm, Kerri welcomes the community to a Friends & Family Event to celebrate the opening of the Kenaston Indigo Starbucks, located at 1590 Kenaston Boulevard. The event will feature complimentary beverages, pastries and all that attend will have the chance to meet members of Team Jennifer Jones, Manitoba’s own Curling World Champions. They will be there at 5:45 for approximately one hour to sign autographs.

Kerri feels that by supporting KidSport she is not only supporting a good cause but on a more personal note, she is paying it forward. She passionately tells the story of her husband, who came from a family that couldn’t afford to put him into sports but due to a charity he was able to play hockey, which he continues to play to this day.

During the event, all voluntary donations will be given to KidSport, and dollar for dollar raised will go directly to the kids. Tax receipts will be provided for all donations over $20.
