KidSport Manitoba to Benefit from CBC's Hockey Day in Canada Online Auction

Starting Saturday hockey enthusiasts will be able to bid on some unique items in an exclusive online auction in conjunction with CBC's Hockey Day in Canada and the National Hockey League Players' Association - all in support of KidSport Manitoba.

The online auction is one of many activities surrounding the 8th annual CBC's Hockey Day in Canada celebration, this year being hosted by the City of Winkler at the Winkler Recreation Complex on Saturday, February 9th.

Proceeds from the online auction will go to KidSport Manitoba to assist with minor hockey registration fees. The NHLPA will also match the funds raised via an equipment donation to KidSport Manitoba as part of the NHLPA Goals & Dreams Fund. The NHLPA previously donated $35,000 to KidSport Manitoba to purchase equipment from funds raised during a Vancouver Canucks pre-season game in September 2003.

Featuring a CBC's Hockey Day in Canada custom-made Gibson guitar designed by graphic design artist Ray Bishop and one-of-a-kind autographed hockey memorabilia graciously donated by the NHLPA, NHL and Canadian NHL teams, the online auction launches on Saturday, January 26 at 5:00 p.m. (CT) during NHL All-Star Weekend. The auction will run until 7:00 p.m. (CT) on Sunday, February 10.
