The Future of High Performance in Manitoba
The Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba (CSCM) is a 'hub' for high performance sport activities in Manitoba. A legacy from the 1999 Pan American Games, this organization is dedicated to the pursuit of podium performances by Manitoba's high performance athletes and coaches.
Here in Manitoba the CSCM is supported by Sport Manitoba, the Pan Am Games Legacy Fund and our corporate community. Nationally the CSCM receives support from the Canadian Olympic Committee, Sport Canada, Own the Podium and the Coaching Association of Canada.
Sport Manitoba is working to ensure Manitoba has a broad base of grassroots athletes following the training and development principles of the Long Term Athlete Development Model - LTAD. We also want to ensure a clear and direct pathway from community sport to elite performance. We are partnering with the CSCM on new programs and initiatives as part of the Sport for Life Centre that we believe will take amateur sport, including high performance sport, in Manitoba to the next level.
