During 2022 National Coaches Week , Sport Manitoba Coaching is offering the Maximizing Coach Mental Well-Being virtual session as a professional development opportunity.

This virtual course will be held Sunday, September 21, 2022 from 7 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. online through Zoom.

Recognition for the importance of mental wellbeing in the sport setting has been growing in recent years, although the focus is often directed toward athletes.  Sport coaches are also under significant pressure in terms of not only producing results, but also in supporting athletes through sport’s ups and downs, managing relationships with other sport stakeholders (e.g., officials, integrated support teams, event organizers), and in striving to find a healthy work-life balance.  This workshop will explore the psychological stressors common to coaching and, through a blend of research, anecdotes from high performance coaches, and dialogue, will discuss strategies for promoting coach mental wellbeing.

There is no cost to attend this session.

Coaches who attend this virtual course will receive 1 PD points towards their maintenance of  certification.
