Champagne and Klassen capture silver in first-ever synchro trampoline competition at Canada Games

Synchro trampolineRED DEER, AB (February 28, 2019) – Tyler Champagne and Isaiah Klassen captured the silver medal with a total score of 45.195 in the first-ever synchronized trampoline competition at a Canada Games.

“Prelims this morning went extremely well – better than I could have ever hoped for,” said Champagne from Team Manitoba after the competition. “In the finals, it was a little rocky in the middle – we both almost fell off the trampoline – but we held it together and got the best synchro score we’ve ever had. Winning this medal means so much – this is the first time Manitoba has won a medal in trampoline at the Canada Winter Games so this is ‘Toba history!”

This wraps up the gymnastics competition at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. Next up for most of these athletes will be the Elite Canada competition in Trampoline Gymnastics set to take place in Calgary, AB from May 1-5, 2019.
