Regional Coach
Academies

Coach education is a high priority at Sport Manitoba. Access to educational opportunities can be difficult for our coaches in rural areas. Sport Manitoba has identified these challenges and is developing ways to address them so all our coaches can access quality education.

The Canada Games Sport for Life Centre was developed with our rural coaches in mind. The training rooms on the 2nd floor as well as the Conference Centre and Theatre in the lower level have been wired to be able to record and eventually webcast, live or delayed, professional development sessions across the province, truly making it a Sport Centre for the entire province. The development the Qualico Training Centre will greatly expand the sessions that can be offered.

Sport Manitoba is committed to working with our regional partners to create Coaching Academies across Manitoba. These Coaching Academies bring professional development sessions led by expert presenters out to all of the Sport Manitoba regions. This allows coaches to attend training opportunities in their own back yard.
