Boxing Builder Herb Embuldeniya Passes Away

On April 6, 2017 the amateur sport community lost one of its great builders as Herbert Embuldeniya passed away at the age of 85. Herb was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 1999 as a builder for boxing but his work in amateur sport with the Manitoba Sports Federation was equally as dear to him. Herb's work in the boxing game took him to World championships, Pan Am Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and even the Olympic Games. his work inspired many, including his wife Nieva who has built her own impressive career as a boxing official. our sincere condolences to Nieva and her family and to the boxing community in general.
