Hart Trophy Winner Andy Bathgate Passes Away at 83

Inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 1993, NHL legend Andy Bathgate passed away on February 26, 2016 at the age of 83. The former NHL All-Star played 17 seasons with New York, Toronto, Detroit and Pittsburgh and won the Hart Trophy as the league MVP in 1958-59 with the Rangers. Bathgate also won a Memorial Cup in 1952 with Guelph. Bathgate won a Stanley Cup with the Maple Leafs in 1964 scoring the game-winning goal in the deciding seventh game. Upon retiring Bathgate ran a golf course in Ontario for decades.
