Legendary “On a Roll” golf icon Ted Homenuik passes away.

Ted Homenuik

On Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the age of 83, the Manitoba and National golf community lost a legend. Known for dominating the Manitoba and Canadian golf scene in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, Ted was known as the man on a roll as he continuously won tournaments. He was a top competitor on both the provincial and national stages and was recognized with a string of honors including winning the Manitoba Men’s Amateur championship three times in (‘61’69 & ’77)  and finishing as a runner-up four times in (’57 ‘58 ’59 & ’71). He also represented Canada on the national stage in the Americas Cup three times. Two of his major accomplishments include finishing as a runner up twice in the Canadian Amateur championships. He was inducted into the Manitoba Sport Hall of Fame in 2006 and said it meant a lot to be recognized alongside other great Manitoba Athletes. Our condolences go out to the Homenuik family on their loss.
