Memorial Cup, Stanley Cup and Avco Cup champion Ted Green passed away on October 8, 2019 at the age of 79.

Inducted as an individual athlete into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2003, Ted Green was also a member of the 1959 Winnipeg Braves team that was the last Manitoba team to win the Memorial Cup. He won the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in the early 70s after recovering from a serious head injury in a stick-swinging incident. Green jumped to the WHA in 1972 and won the first Avco Cup with the New England Whalers before coming back home to win two more Avco Cups with the Winnipeg Jets in 1976 and 1978.

He went on to a long career as an NHL assistant coach to add more Stanley Cups to his resume.

Our condolences to the Green family for their loss.
