Description:

Sport Manitoba Performance is building a network of Sport Science Providers across the province leading up to the 2021 Canada Summer Games to assist in servicing Team Manitoba athletes.

As athletes reach an elite level, the athlete’s mindset and mental preparation can often differentiate the top competitors and plays an important role in enhancing or blocking successful athletic performance.  At a multi-sport games, such as the Canada Games, there can be several new distractions and unique circumstances that athletes will be unfamiliar with.  Sport Manitoba’s mental skill coaches will be responsible for delivering team talks, workshops, and focus groups as requested, to assist in Team Manitoba’s mental preparation leading up to their major competitions.

We are seeking individuals that are able to deliver services in the following topics:

  • Goal Setting
  • Imagery
  • Motivation & Building Confidence
  • Dealing with Success and Failure
  • Improve Concentration
  • Coping with Stress
  • Growth/Fixed Mindset in Sport
  • Passion and Perseverance
  • Body image
  • Refocusing Tools
  • Decreasing Anxiety/ Avoiding Distractions
  • Games or Competition Preparation
  • Teambuilding

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Psychology or equivalent.
  • Experience as a high-performance athlete or coach is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual (Written/Spoken French) considered an asset.

Pay

  • $45 – $75 flat rate per presentation (~60 mins)

Applicants moving on to the next stage will be asked to deliver a 30-minute presentation on a related topic.
