At Sport Manitoba we fund and plan sports programs to promote the development of vibrant citizens, athletes, and communities in Manitoba. We are currently seeking a Senior Games Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Sport, the Senior Games Manager oversees all aspects of Sport Manitoba’s Manitoba and Canada Games programs.  The Senior Manager provides leadership to all Manitoba Games host societies and Team Manitoba in the areas of business and operational plan development, program administration, policy development, implementation, evaluation, and financial management.  In addition to consultation with Games sports, the Senior Manager assists the Sport Partner funding area with consultative services and resources to support organizational effectiveness, governance, planning, sport program development and assessment of funding applications for recognized provincial sport organizations.


  • Relevant degree in sport/recreation management or business administration
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related work/volunteer experience in amateur sport delivery
  • Knowledge of multi-sport games is an asset
  • An ability to lead a team of staff and volunteers
  • Excellent organizational, planning, time management and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to implement strategies to achieve operational efficiencies
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles as a foundation for developing and maintaining internal controls and budget oversight
  • A proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to make difficult decisions in a timely manner
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to changing roles
  • Must be able to work extra time outside of normal office hours as required
  • Travel is required
  • Employment subject to successful completion of Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry check
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
