The annual Bison Transport Sport LeadHERship Series is designed to empower and inspire women to become leaders in sport, community and life. It’s a professional development opportunity designed for coaches, administrators, community leaders, and volunteers of all genders, from all sports, from across Manitoba.

This year’s FREE five-part online series brings together inspirational leaders from all areas of sport to tell their personal and professional stories, offer valuable advice and guidance, and share practical tips that participants can use on and off the field of play. Hosted by media personality Sara Orlesky, participants will build their networks and knowledge bases through a variety of interviews and presentations so they can empower and encourage the girls they work with to stay active and involved in sport.

Sport Manitoba in partnership with Bison Transport, aspire to increase female engagement in sport by providing an informative, inclusive, and inspirational experience.

Young girls are over three times more likely to participate in sport if they have parents who are in sport compared to girls whose parents are not involved in sport. While research shows that it is particularly important to have same-gender role models, other influencers can have a profound impact on these young athletes and how they view themselves and their chosen sport. Women in influential positions can challenge stereotypes about gender in leadership and can offer diverse insight and advice to other girls and women based on their own experiences. Our guest speakers for the session will share stories about their role models and how their influence led them to the sport environment in which they live now.
