Meet a Personal Trainer

Miguel Fictoria is our Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. A University of Winnipeg graduate with a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and a major in Kinesiology, Miguel is passionate about promoting physical activity and exercise to benefit holistic well-being. 

As a Personal Trainer, his role is to support you on your fitness journey in a safe and enjoyable way through individualized training programs.

“I recognize that every person is unique and that training programs should be tailored accordingly,” said Miguel.

 

 

What Does a Personal Training Session Look Like?

Although a personal training session varies depending on your needs and fitness goals, there are certain physical and mental aspects that are very important to incorporate into a training program.

“Flexibility, balance, mobility, strength, endurance, and mental strategies,” said Miguel. “Considering all these areas are important in order to create a positive experience for every client.”

Consultation & assessment
But before you get started, we’ll do a consultation and assessment to determine what personal training package is ultimately best for you. You can do this in-person or virtually.

The consultation is for discussing your fitness goals, medical history, and personal training options. Your assessment will identify the starting point for your trainer to create a custom program and test functional movement patterns, strength, and cardio. If your assessment is in-person, we’ll also test your overall body composition with an InBody scan.

Types of personal training
There are a few options for personal training, such as one-on-one private, partner, and small group training. 

Virtual options

When setting up your fitness goals, we use a SMART approach. This means making goals that are:
