Three Softball Squads Undefeated

Interlake started the day by edging out Westman 3-2 in the first game of the day and in their second match against Norman, Interlake encountered a late start.  

Norman came out strong and scored two runs in the first inning and a single in the second. Interlake would turn it around with an RBI by Alex Chester in the bottom of the third and added a single in the fourth, while Norman was held off the scoresheet. It was in the fifth inning when Interlake broke loose with eight runs. Norman struggled to shut Interlake down and ultimately was unable to get past Interlake’s defense and lost the game 10-3.  

In other Power Pool action, Winnipeg Blue beat out Norman 8-1. Westman and Winnipeg Blue played a scoreless game until the seventh inning when Winnipeg Blue got a single run to win the game 1-0.   Interlake and Winnipeg Blue have a record of 2-0 and Norman and Westman sit at 0-2.

In the Smart Pool, Central beat Eastman 8-1. Winnipeg Gold dominated Parkland 13-2. Central continued their winning streak against Parkland 8-1 and Winnipeg Gold downed Eastman 12-0.  Central sits at 2-0, Winnipeg Gold at 1-1 and Eastman and Parkland at 0-2.  

Both pools continue round-robin play Friday at 9 a.m. at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach.
