Co-Chairs Welcome, Bienvenue, and Tansi to the 2018 Manitoba Games powered by Manitoba Hydro. We acknowledge that these games will be held on the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation traditional land and recognize the enduring presence of the Indigenous
people here.

Thompson is honoured to host the largest on-going multi-sport event in the province. On behalf the 2018 Thompson Host Society we extend warmest greeting to all the athletes, coaches, parents, spectators and visitors.
We encourage all of you to explore what Thompson has to offer, from its small town friendliness to its urban feel. Thompson, the Hub of the North, will exhibit the Northern Spirit through our facilities, cultural awareness and volunteer engagement.
The Host Society would like to thank all of its volunteers, Friends of the Games, and our partners for making these Games a reality. Our vision for these games is that we provide a fun, safe, once in a lifetime sporting experience for all participants. Stay safe, have fun, and #playnorth

The flag bearers for each of our six regional teams are nominated by their peers and selected by their Regional Sport Development Officer.

Made up of athletes from artistic gymnastics, archery and curling they each have a unique story about how they got to these Games.

The Puck Drops Monday


The 2018 Manitoba Winter Games powered by Manitoba Hydro are now officially underway. With the official start of competition comes the start of one of the marquee events of any winter games: hockey. The boys’ hockey tournament, which will take place from today until Wednesday, features the top bantam-aged players (13-14 years old) from across the province.

Games Gear

Gear Up!

Please visit our store in the Thompson Regional Community Centre between March 4-10 during the Games to get your gear! We'll have T-shirts, sweaters, water bottles and more!

Store Hours

Sunday: 3:00pm-7:30pm
Monday to Saturday: 10:00am-6:00pm

The store accepts cash, debit and credit.
