It’s simple and convenient to begin your coaching journey

The National Coaching Certification Program makes it easy to get started and stay motivated on the path towards coaching skills development.

Introduction & Benefits

Defining the meaning of a
community role model

The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is the recognized national standard for coach training and certification in Canada. Each year more than 50,000 coaches take an NCCP course, and more than 1 million coaches have participated in the program, making it one of Canada’s largest adult education programs.

When you take an NCCP clinic, you'll gain technical abilities as well as leadership and decision-making skills. NCCP training will open doors to new opportunities in coaching and in life.  To view descriptions of multi-sport courses please click here

By learning how to become a coach, you can provide a positive experience for others and for yourself. Coaches represent many different roles to many different people. Coaches are viewed as teachers, mentors, role models, friends, and leaders in the community in which they become involved. Furthermore, Coaches contribute to the community, have an enormous effect on the development of our youth, and participate in a great learning experience.

Good coaching is fundamental to community sport. By becoming a valued member of the community, good coaches can share the positive aspects of an active lifestyle. The role of a coach allows you to teach things such as teamwork, character building, and the fundamental skills of the sport to participants who are eager to learn.

Coaches can help to train any type of participant, from beginners to Olympians, and everyone in between.

Who Should Take It
& How Much Time

Developing national-level and beginner coaches alike

NCCP workshops are designed for all types of coaches. Whether you’re thinking about coaching your child’s community team, or you’re already the head coach of a national team, the NCCP has workshops to meet your needs.

And the best part? Individual workshops can be completed in a single evening or over a weekend.  Some workshops can now be taken online at your convenience or via home-study.
