When it comes to your health, it all boils down to something quite simple. You want to access the quality care you need when you need it, and you want to deal with trusted, experienced professionals from the moment you book your appointment.

The Sport Manitoba Clinic strives to give you just that through a variety of ways we’ll explore in this post.

But first things first, don’t be confused by the clinic’s name while there are patients who are athletes, this is a clinic for all Manitobans, because everyone deserves tailored care from specialists in a range of clinical disciplines. It is named the Sport Manitoba Clinic because it is operated by the non-profit organization, Sport Manitoba.

You can also feel confident that your experience will be a safe one during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Clinic is practicing all the critical precautions to continue to protect its patients, staff, and visitors, and has virtual therapy options, too.

One-On-One Care From Multiple Clinicians

When you visit the Sport Manitoba Clinic, you receive one-on-one care where it’s just you and your clinician during your appointment they don’t bounce from room to room seeing other patients during your designated time.

A Collaborative Environment

The Sport Manitoba Clinic uses a multidisciplinary approach to care, thanks to a vast variety of services existing in one area.

There’s a physician, physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and more, all together under one roof. This makes it easy for staff to collaborate for effective patient care.

Our fitness centre, athlete training centre, and many of the Provincial Sport Organizations (PSOs), are also in the Sport Manitoba facility, just steps away from the Clinic.

As a result, there’s a clear synergy between these areas.

For example, if you’re a fitness centre member or an athlete training in the Performance Centre and you get injured, the clinicians are close by to help. Vice versa, there’s the opportunity to transition into training or fitness classes after your rehabilitation is finished, too.

And while clinic staff, like Dr. Sawa, provide care for the general public for people of all ages, she also regularly works with athletes, such as soccer players, football players, and gymnasts, including patients who require concussion care.

Growing to Serve Patient Needs

The Clinic is newly renovated and now has more space for additional patient rooms, equipment, and services like X-Ray.

Now, digital X-Ray technology can provide high-quality images on-site that are available to your physician, regardless of their location, just minutes after being produced.

Patients who are referred to the Sport Manitoba Clinic for X-Ray avoid the long waits often associated with urgent care centres, which helps with a quicker, more effective diagnosis and treatment planning.

Giving Back to the Local Amateur Sport Community

When you choose the Sport Manitoba Clinic for your health care, that money gets reinvested into amateur sport and community programs in our province. In this way, you help provide more opportunities for Manitobans to get active and lead healthier lives!
