Sport Manitoba is the lead planning, programming and funding agency for the development of amateur sport in Manitoba. As a non-profit organization, Sport Manitoba creates and manages sport programs and services and partners with the more than 100 provincial sport organizations that deliver sport in our province.
With a goal to advance the health, social and recreational benefits of sport and the overall performance of Manitoba athletes, the organization leads the way in providing valuable sport programs and resources including the Power Smart Manitoba Games, Coaching Manitoba, Team Manitoba, KidSport and the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
In 2010, Sport Manitoba took a major step forward by developing a new home base in the Sport for Life Centre. A first in Canada, the new Sport for Life Centre at 145 Pacific Avenue in the Exchange District, is a one-stop resource for creating a healthier community by helping athletes and youth learn, grow and succeed in sport.
While the renovation of phase 1 of this 100-year old heritage building is complete, fundraising is underway to realize the full vision of phase 2 which includes the building of a training fieldhouse and new programming opportunities for our community.
