The City of Thompson will host the 2018 Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games. The Games will be held in early March, 2018 involving up to 1,800 participants and 1,000 volunteers.

Sport Manitoba and Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries are pleased to announce the recipients of “Thanks Coach!” awards at the 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games in Steinbach. These awards recognize the often unheralded but very important role coaches play.
Sport Manitoba is hosting Regional Testing Combines open to athletes of ANY level and sport. The first Combine will take place in Winkler on September 9, 2016. The second Combine will take place in Brandon on September 10, 2016.
3,000 athletes, coaches and volunteers gathered together from all from different parts of the province, from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences – and for one week we all had the common goal, to experience True Sport and live the magic of the Games!
Eastman was down more often than was comfortable in the boys volleyball gold medal game Saturday in front of hundreds at the Steinbach Regional Secondary School.
Penalty kicks were required Saturday for Eastman to clinch the boys soccer gold medal at the Steinbach Soccer Park.
Eastman opened the scoring less than 10 minutes into the under-16 girls soccer gold medal game. Interlake took the first two shots of the game but both were saved by Eastman’s keeper, Emma Winram.
They swung back and forth until Interlake commanded the third and final set to earn the gold medal in girls volleyball Saturday.
Interlake’s winning streak came to an end with Central’s win in the Gold Medal Game with a score of 7-5. Interlake scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning to get things started.
The two teams primed for a gold medal tilt in boys soccer Saturday have found the back of the net often in their so far undefeated quests.
Eastman won a 2-1 tiebreaker game against Westman to qualify for Saturday’s gold medal game in girls soccer.
Interlake walked away from their match with Winnipeg Gold as the only undefeated team in the softball tournament. Entering their semi-final game Friday, the Interlake and Winnipeg Gold softball teams were even at three wins and no losses.
