When: April 10th, 2024
Where: Online

Sport Manitoba is hosting three free webinars on safe sport. Hosted by Allison Forsyth, we’re working with her company, Generation Safe, to provide introductory safe sport webinars targeted at three different audiences:

  • Apr. 10 – Provincial and Community Sport Organizations: Safe sport is a new movement and can be complex and confusing. Most organizations will ask “where do we start?” or “what is the most important thing to do?” Come learn from an expert and leader in the space as we aim to simplify and provide you the best practices to protect your participants.
  • Apr. 17 – Coaches and Officials: Coaches and officials have largely been ignored in the safe sport movement as the focus has rested at the athlete level. Coaches and officials deserve to understand the landscape, to know how they are protected, and also what the forms of maltreatment are and how to be mindful of ingrained behaviours. Come learn from an expert who has educated over 1000 + coaches in our country.
  • Apr. 24 – Athletes and Parents: Athletes deserve a sport experience free of maltreatment and abuse and parents surely agree. Safe sport is a new movement in our country and many athletes lack the awareness of the forms of maltreatment and understanding how they deserve to be treated. In addition, parents, come learn the expectations you should have of your organization as well as what we currently are seeing as the biggest risk — athlete-to-athlete maltreatment in the safe sport landscape.

Time – All webinars are from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
